A group of combining professional customers joined us at our 2018 FarmSight Combine Clinic this afternoon (20th June).

Hosted at our Chudleigh depot, customers were invited behind the scenes in our Agricultural workshop to get hands on with our John Deere T550i demonstrator combine.

Split into 3 groups our FarmSight team, shared their expertise on the header, chasis, controls and cab. Taking the lead on the header was our General Manager, Peter who was quick to point out this is the most important part of our impressive T550i! As the first point of contact with the crop it’s vital to make sure set up is correct and as much of the crop is picked up as possible to allow the combine to work at it’s peak.

Our AMS Specialist, Clayton, was up in the cab showing the preferred settings to optimise the combine and get the most from it. He also shared driving tips, including AutoTrac options. The group were also introduced to key technology in the cab which would help make them more efficient in the field and gain insight into this year’s crop.

The walk round of the chassis was with Stephen, one of our Agricultural Technicians. With the biggest area of the combine to cover, speed was needed! They toured around the T550i, learning about the complete workings of this giant machine as well as taking a look at the mechanics inside.

Stephen has worked on combines for years in the workshop on maintenance, servicing and repairs so was keen to share how at the end of the season, good close-down procedures can prevent issues in the future. He explained a winter service is vital before storage and our Expert Check package is a great way to ensure the whole machine is closed down properly with our 150 checkpoint service.

We then moved everyone upstairs for presentations and lunch. Our Parts team kicked off with Andy, our Parts Combine Specialist, discussing our excellent parts availability of 85% from our stock. He shared John Deere’s behind the scenes video to see how the more unique parts needed for the combine can be ordered and delivered very quickly, within 24-48 hours, either from John Deere in Langar, Nottinghamshire or Mannheim, Germany.

Our FarmSight team lead by Dom, an AMS specialist, shared his experiences on how farming is becoming more complex and is demanding long-term focus and dedication no matter what the seasons may bring.

John Deere are leading the way with state of the art technology as standard on their new machinery. Our FarmSight Team have the knowledge to help by measuring as much data as possible in the field which can then be measured to make improvements for the future.

Dom also shared the technology and software in Masons Kings FarmSight packages which is available to all customers. All Masons Kings systems are integrated to work seamlessly with easy ‘plug and play’ technology so are not just designed to be green and yellow either, the technology meets industry wide standards so you can still enjoy the benefits even if you have a mixed fleet.

The clinic was wrapped up with John Deere’s GoHarvest App! The App will suggest alternative settings for John Deere W & T-Series combines for a variety of crops and threshing conditions from full sunshine to damper night conditions.

With all the insight, knowledge and experiences shared by our team, our customers left feeling set for the season!

We’d like to say thank you to everyone who attended this years Combine Clinic, wish you all the best for the harvest and remember if you need us we’re always here to help!
