Pre-mixed fuels for your machinery: what’s the advantage?

Do you know the benefits of using Stihl’s MotoMix pre mixed fuel for 2 stroke engines (chainsaws,strimmers, blowers etc) and Viking’s MotoPlus for 4 stroke engines?

 

 

Certainly one of the biggest benefits of using Stihl’s MotoMix fuel is that you don’t have to worry about getting the fuel mixture wrong. Normally when mixing up your 2 stroke oil and petrol there is a chance you could put not enough oil in the mix which could potentially seize the engine. If you were to get the mix slightly wrong and put to much oil in then it could start to choke up the exhaust port leading to power issues as well as potentially more damage to the pistons because of a carbon build up.

Stihl’s MotoMix is the perfect mix guaranteed which not only avoids these simple mixing issues it also means that your machine can run at peak performance. It is made up of premium non-ethanol, high octane motor fuel and their highest quality Stihl HP ultra oil which means it’s kind on the machine as well as the environment with lower CO2 emissions.

 

Another benefit is it’s incredibly long storage life of up to 5 years! Our workshop has definitely noticed a deterioration in the quality of fuel in recent years which has led to more and more machines coming in with fuel faults. We’ve seen cases where petrol has separated inside machines in less than a month of being bought from the pump. With Stihl’s MotoMix you don’t need to worry and has the added advantage of not having to drain your machines before winter or a long period of non use.

 

Vikings MotoPlus fuel has the same great benefits that MotoMix has except it is not a 2 stroke mixture and is designed for 4 stroke engines and specifically small ones. This fuel is virtually benzene free so is also not only good to the machine but also good to the environment as well. As well as improving the service life and performance of the machines it has the same great storage life of 5 years again giving you peace of mind when it comes to fuel issues over periods of non use.

 

 

A top tip from us would be that even if you don’t want to use the MotoMix or MotoPlus fuels regularly then it is still worth buying a can as an occasional bit of tic for your machine. Whether you use it mid season to ensure its running at its best or for the last few uses of the machine’s season so that when you next come to use it, it’ll be ready to go.
