Hi, I’m Les, Domestic Turf Sales Consultant from Masons Kings and here is what I think you should be preparing for your garden, ready for the spring months.

With the weather still gloomy and the nights still long, it can be hard to be motivated to look beyond the colder season. Here are some tips and tricks to keep in mind as spring approaches.

Clear up flowers and debris

With all the storms we have had this winter in the UK, wind can litter a garden area with all sorts of debris. Check as much as you can that garden beds are free from errant twigs and rubbish. Keep things as clear as you can for new saplings to grow uninterrupted. Get rid of weeds (especially the roots so they won’t grow back!).

Clean greenhouses and surfaces

Dirt and grime can build up on your greenhouses, conservatories and other surfaces. Give them a wipe down with hot soapy water. I use washing up liquid on mine (inside and outside!). Sweep inside and wash pots and seed trays. Ventilation is important during this time so it can dry thoroughly. So it’s a good idea to leave your door or a window open during non stormy days.

Cleaning

Talking about cleaning brings me onto my products of the month….

The NEW STIHL Pressure washer range.

Stihl

The New range numbers are RE 90,100,110,120 and the 130Plus. They are now fully manufactured by STIHL so there is now no waiting on spare parts if by chance your machine goes wrong.

All models have extendable handles and treaded wheels for manoeuvring your machine easily. The bar pressure on the range goes from 10 to 135 with water rates between 440 to 520 litres per hour.
