The big benefit of brushing-in topdressing, as opposed to rubbing it in with a metal dragmat, is that the brush bristles quickly work the topdressing down between the blades of grass, right into the surface.

On the other hand, the design of a metal dragmat means that it tends to scrape the material across the surface and therefore can require more passes to thoroughly rub it in.

Another big benefit of the Greens Groomer is that its multiple zigzag brushes move the topdressing sideways as well as forwards, and it is therefore especially effective at filling Hollow Coring holes without scuffing or bruising the turf.

As well as the standard 6′ (1.8m) width, there is also a 12′ (3.6m) width for brushing larger greens plus fairways in the fastest time.

The Greens Groomer is also the most superbly effective tool for maintaining 3G synthetic pitches. When fitted with the triple rake and brush attachment it levels out the rubber crumb fill, then lifts the grass fibres upright through it, then grooms a smart true surface to play on. A synthetic pitch is a big investment, so it pays to use the best equipment available to prolong its life.

  • Logic MSP Pro-Sweep Collector

The Logic Pro-Sweep’s engine drives a 4′ (1.2 metre) rotary brush with 150mm long, stiff bristles, designed to sweep anything it comes into contact with into the hopper. It has a fine threaded height adjuster which is extremely easy to operate and setting the correct operating height takes just seconds.

The unit can be trailed behind any appropriate vehicle with a tow bar. A centrifugal clutch on the engine allows the engine to be started without engaging the drive system. During the sweeping operation the engine is set to full revs via the remote throttle to engage the drive system to the brush.

A rope and handle are supplied as standard to allow the operator to discharge light hopper loads from the seated position of the towing vehicle. Another option is to tip the hopper using the metal pedestal fitted on the rear corner. Finally, for heavy hopper loads, a manual winch is available as an option.

    Artificial sports surface maintenance

The Pro-Sweep fitted with a mesh-bottomed floor is the ideal machine for the regular maintenace of the level of the sand base on any artificial surface. The action of sweeping on any artificial surface helps to keep the pile upright to preserve the “natural” feel.

In addition to this important function the Pro-Sweep offers many other benefits such as constantly de-mossing the surface, collecting litter and general debris and in cases where the pitch is situated near a line of trees, collecting fallen leaves or pine needles.

    All municipal applications

The Logic Pro-Sweep is also ideal for any required sweeping task such as leaf, grass, pine needles or acorn collection. Other applications include collecting cartridge wads and broken clay pigeons, clearing large areas of litter eg.open air agricultural shows, concerts or festivals. All of these uses confirm that the Logic Pro-Sweep is a very versatile piece of equipment.

Leaf and debris blower for sports pitches, parks and estates. Meet the Mega Twister. With patented ‘whisper’ turbine. An innovatively side-routed airflow system operates with spent air discharged through a low level air vent, allowing the ground to absorb almost all of their noise.

The Mega Twister has a versatile 230° swivel action, 390 m³ per minute airflow and is easily adjusted in all directions. Leaves and debris can be blown continuously in one direction with no requirement to leave the cab, back up or turn the unit round. The blow out nozzle can be set vertically, so that the air stream can be adjusted to the prevailing conditions guiding leaves and debris accurately and quickly.

  • Wiedenmann Terra Brush

When set up for synthetic use the TERRA BRUSH is suitable for brushing in sand and rubber crumb. It levels off and breaks down uneven surfaces; disperses rubber crumb and improves ball performance. Importantly it helps return bristles to standing position so that pitches and carpets look well presented. When set up for natural use it brushes in sand and top dressings very effectively. It can also remove dew and tidies and presents turf as it moves effortlessly over the surface.

The TERRA BRUSH works rapidly. Consists of four brush rows, two aligned perpendicular to the direction of travel and two in a zig zag arrangement. Such a formation allows an even distribution of sand, lengthwise and crosswise. Can be configured with 3 point linkage or as trailed versions. If the bristles become worn on one side after a long period of use, the attachable frame or tow bar can be reversed to ensure even and economical use. Optional spring tines are available for certain applications.

For surface cleaning of artificial turf surfaces. The TERRA CLEAN 100 is an effective entry level cleaner/ collector. Land driven, the Terra Clean 100 can be towed behind a wide range of utility vehicles from 12 hp without the need for a PTO. As no hydraulics or electrics are required it is favoured by those clubs or organisations with a small number of pitches to maintain. Readily manoeuvrable and at just 1.2m wide it is sufficiently narrow to pass through the gates of most facilities yet wide enough to cover a full size pitch quickly.

With a four brush rotor, it collects dirt, debris and some rubber crumb onto a mechanical vibrating screen. Next it efficiently separates the debris from the crumb rubber before returning infill back to the playing surface and retaining the debris in the 50 litre hopper. The windows of hopper cover allow the operator to see at a glance just how much debris has been picked from the surface. After use the drive can be disengaged so it is easily transported on and off the playing surface and from site to site.

Some synthetic surfaces need to meet rigorous performance standards meted out by the likes of FIFA, World Rugby or the FIH. Increasingly as synthetic surfaces become more elite keeping them properly cleaned and maintained is very important. The Terra Clean 160 is a sweeper collector aimed at this high performance sector as it too, offers world first technology and stands apart in the artificial maintenance market.

It can operate in damp and dewy conditions yet still leave a thoroughly cleaned and groomed surface. Uniquely it combines both a dust cyclone extraction system with a sieved separation system to filter and remove miniscule deposits. Its exceptional cleaning capability means it rids a pitch of much of its powdered rubber crumb, an exceptional process which prevents the playing surface being sealed and compacted by these fine dust particles. This twin operating system means it has huge eco credentials and excellent results. The Terra Clean 160 uses the cyclone filter system to draw and remove dust. Environmentally this technology hugely benefits both the operator and the facility as fine particles of dirt are removed safely and quickly.
